1 | Summary of Functions:
- To provide general accounting services
- To ensure the accuracy of all Project and Organizational financial records.
- To ensure compliance with fiscal requirements of various funding sources.
- To work with other fiscal office staff as directed by the Fiscal Officer.
2 | Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Management, Compliance & Reporting
- Assist with Audit
- Assist Fiscal officer with Negotiated Indirect Cost Rate Agreements (NICRA)
- Process any needed financial reports and submit sales tax payments.
- Assist Fiscal Officer in compiling and preparing financial reports.
- Assist the Fiscal Officer in managing staff as needed
- General Accounting
- Maintain balance sheet, general ledger, and chart of accounts
- Enter budgets into Quickbooks
- Reconcile Ridge Project and TYRO Support Services Bank Statements
- Maintain Master Personnel Expense Spreadsheet
- Enter monthly depreciation expense
- To assist in accruing and properly closing financial periods
- Payroll
- Double check Fiscal Assistant payroll, benefits, and admin expense calculations
- Enter and pay payroll
- Pay all related taxes and file required tax reports (Workers Comp, SUTA, Annual Workers Comp True-up, School District taxes, Ohio Income tax, 941, etc.)
- Accounts Receivable (AR) Duties
- Double check Accounts Receivable invoices Sales Receipts created by Fiscal Assistant for payments and donations
- Process and enter Draw information into PMS and make related Quick Books entries.
- Accounts Payable (AP) Duties
- Pay bills and Generate AP check
- General Duties
- Operates office equipment including computer, copiers, fax machines and 10-key calculator.
- Must be familiar with computer systems, manuals, and policies and procedures.
- Must participate in any required program training and remain on top of new trends by attending workshops, seminars, conferences, meetings, etc. as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Must be detail oriented
- Education or background in accounting is a must. Prefer experience in non-profit accounting; consideration will be given to length and type of professional experience.
- Experience with QuickBooks is highly preferred.
- Proficient in MS Office Applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, among others. (advanced Excel skills preferred)
- Experience with grant programs is a plus.
- Ability to sort, check, count, and verify numbers.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work efficiently without supervision.
- Ability to listen, communicate (written and verbal), excellent grammar, spelling and proof-reading skills and follow-up effectively with all staffing levels and clients/customers.
- Ability to work independently and within a team, self-starter, energetic.
- Ability to demonstrate good common sense and sound judgment.
- Ability to perform at high levels in a fast-paced ever-changing work environment.
- Must be willing and able to pass state and federal background check for working with children.
- Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of insurance.
