We serve middle-school and high-school students, and adults involved in the criminal justice system. About the Job
The Employer Outreach Coordinator is responsible for connecting justice-involved individuals with employment opportunities by actively engaging employers, building partnerships, and reducing barriers to successful reentry. This role includes facilitating workshops, providing employment coaching, and coordinating with workforce agencies to ensure program participants have the tools and resources needed to thrive.
Key responsibilities include:
• Actively searches for and engages employers in the service area to identify job opportunities for previously incarcerated individuals.
• Coordinates with potential employers and local organizations related to workforce readiness and employment.
• Coordinates with appropriate agencies to obtain necessary identification documents and assist program participants in meeting employment requirements and address barriers to successful employment.
• Co-facilitate pre-employment workshops and workforce readiness workshops in correctional settings, as well as in the community.
• Maintain excellent relationships with employers, business and trade groups, local agencies, and partners. This includes attending ongoing workforce meetings and events.
• Use and maintain digital records, electronic calendars, email, and video conferencing.
• Meet with currently or previously incarcerated adults to offer employment coaching, goal setting, and support both inside and outside of correctional facilities.
• Must be willing to travel extensively throughout a 9-county area in NW Ohio.

- You are comfortable being in an adult prison and are confident that you can maintain control and safety when working with high-risk justice involved individuals.
- You can think on your feet and enjoy artfully and charismatically engaging with people to get them to shift their attitudes and behaviors.

- You enjoy working with people and building lasting professional relationships.
- You are comfortable engaging with both employers and justice-involved individuals.

Skills You Need
- You must be a good public speaker/teacher and be able to conduct trainings and seminars.
- You must be able to follow written instructions, lesson plans and institutional procedures.
- You must have demonstrated ability to work with at-risk populations (history of working with incarcerated individuals and/or their families preferred), including ability to develop rapport and to maintain discipline. Previous Case-Management experience is a plus.
- You must be able to use a computer to print, email, type case notes, and you must be proficient in Microsoft Office Applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, among others.
- You must be able to read and write English well.
- You must demonstrate good common sense and sound judgment.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work efficiently without supervision.
- You must be able to pass state and federal background check.
- You must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of insurance.
- You must demonstrate a lifestyle consistent with the principles we teach at The RIDGE Project and must adhere to a strong conviction that healthy marriages produce healthy families and communities (Lead by Example).
