The Ridge Project, Inc. is an industry leader in the human services field.  Founded in 2000 as a faith-based, Christian, non-profit, The RIDGE Project specializes in Youth Intervention, Fatherhood, Healthy Relationship, Healthy Family, and Workforce Development services.  We currently operate throughout the state of Ohio. 
Through our unique and cutting-edge programs, we seek to end generational cycles of family disintegration by training clients to have strong, healthy and permanent marriages, and to be responsible citizens and role models in their schools, families and/or communities. 1 | Summary of Functions:
This is a temporary position for high school students to work over the summer break. The position will vary based on the availability and skill set of the students, but in general the position will support the operations of the RIDGE Project by providing general support for the RIDGE Project’s programs. Duties may include answering phones, greeting guests, receiving and distributing incoming mail, data entry, janitorial, maintenance, and cleaning, inventory, and organization. Depending upon skill set the position could also include assisting with events, service delivery, and content creation.  

 

 2 | Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To answer phones and greet guests of The RIDGE Project, and to receive and distribute the mail.
  • To process incoming paperwork, and to organize and maintain The RIDGE Project client records in the Database.
  • To help clean, organize, maintain, and inventory RIDGE Project facilities, equipment, and supplies.
  • To operate office equipment including computer, copiers, and fax machines.
  • To help support company events like family days, staff trainings, camps, and other events.
  • To assist in content creation, podcasting, video and sound editing and production.
  • Must participate in any required program training and attending workshops, seminars, conferences, meetings, etc. as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

3 | Organizational Relationships: 

  • Reports directly to the Project Director
  • Must demonstrate a lifestyle consistent with the principles and goals of The RIDGE Project.
  • Must adhere to a strong conviction that healthy marriages produce healthy families and communities.
  • Must adhere to the policies and directives established by The RIDGE Project Board of Trustees.
  • Must be a current or recently graduated high-school student.
  • Must have good phone and conversation skills.
  • Must have demonstrable critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer skills and word processing required.
  • Proficient with MS Office – Excel and Word.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work efficiently without supervision.
  • Ability to listen, communicate (written and verbal), and follow-up effectively with all staffing levels and clients/customers.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team, self-starter, energetic.
  • Ability to demonstrate good common sense and sound judgment.
  • Must be willing and able to pass state and federal background check for working with children.
  • Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of insurance.

Physical requirements

To perform this job:

  • You will need to be able to stand and speak for long periods of time, sit and drive for long periods of time, will need to walk, and may need to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. 
  • You will regularly use hands to handle, or feel; type, with hands, reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
  • You will need to use close vision; distance vision; peripheral vision; depth perception and an ability to adjust focus.
  • You may occasionally be required to lift and carry up to 50 pounds for distances of 100 yards or more.
