Understanding Your Role

You have the power to make or break your family, especially your children. No matter what age they are, they care about what you think, say, and do. Your role as a father is to speak life into your children, to be their rock, their constant. Your children don’t need you to be perfect. What they need is for you to be present.

This isn’t just something we believe. Nearly 3 million children in the U.S. currently have a parent in jail or prison, and more than 10 million have experienced a parent’s incarceration at some point in their lives. Every one of those children knows what it feels like to grow up without their father there. Presence matters, and you have the power to make sure your children don’t have to carry that same absence. Fathers who have gone through TYRO Dads report real change: 97% say they came away with a renewed commitment to fatherhood, proof that showing up again is possible.
